Introduction
Which is more effective:a pre-built PC or a custom gaming PC?There might be a lot of debates about this question. However,my recommendation is to build a custom PC that allows you to choose the right components for your own needs while saving your hard-earned money. There are many pre-built PCs available online, and they have their pros and cons. However,if you attempt to build your own PC,it won’t break the bank, and you’ll also learn how to build a PC from scratch.
In this blog post, I will try to break down all the components that are value for money and help you to choose the right parts for your builds.
Here,I have built a gaming PC that is highly focused on a budget but won’t compromise the gaming experience.
$500 PC build:
CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 5600
GPU:AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
Motherboard:MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi (AM4, PCIe Gen 4)
RAM:32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz
Storage:500GB NVMe Gen 4 SSD (PCIe 4.0)
Power Supply(PSU):Thermaltake Smart 600W 80+ Bronze
Case:Deepcool MATREXX 40 3FS
In this budget segment, we choose the CPU , AMD Ryzen 5 5600, for being a one of the best picks in this range. It’s a 6-core ,12-thread processor that delivers an amazing gaming experience at 1080p at ultra settings in most modern title games. For this price, this processor is undoubtedly the best option for gaming and productivity. The price of this processor approximately $130-$150, depending on the retailer.

Then comes the part of one of the important components for a gaming PC, which is Graphics card.We opt for the AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT that comes with 6GB DDR6 VRAM.If you don’t have an issue with an older GPU, you can find this GPU at a lower price on eBay.This graphics card allows gaming at 1080p with high to ultra settings in most modern titles .

You can play at 1440p, but it may struggle a little bit.It not only consumes less power than the NVIDIA alternatives but it also surpasses GPU’s like RTX 2060 or RTX 3050 in some areas. However, if you want to get features like Ray Tracing or DLSS you can choose the RTX 3050 but RX 5600 XT can compete with RTX 3050 in RAW FPS(Frames Per Second). You can get this older GPU at $150-$180 on eBay.
We chose the MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi (AM4, PCIe Gen 4) , a micro-ATX motherboard specifically designed for AMD processors, particularly AM4 sockets. The reason for choosing this motherboard is it’s features within this price range. It comes with Wi-fi 6 making wireless connectivity faster rather than older Wi-Fi standards. It also supports PCle 4.0 , which ensures faster data transfer. In addition , memory can be upgraded up to 64GB.
For unified memory, we picked Kingston FURY Beast 2*16GB(dual channel). It offers a speed of 3200MHz to 4000MHz , making it suitable for gaming, multitasking and productivity .My recommendation is to have at least 16GB of RAM for a gaming PC.For better performance, it is advisable to install this RAM in a dual-channel configuration.
For the storage, we selected Crucial P3 Plus 500 GB variant. It is a budget-friendly PCle 4.0 NVMe SSD and also offering 5000MB/s read & 4200MB/s write speeds. It is faster than older PCle 3.0 SSD’s.It comes in different variants, such as 500GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB.
We chose the Thermaltake Smart 600W 80+ Bronze as the Power Supply for its reliability and power delivery. It provides enough wattage for your components. It is a certified 80+ Bronze power supply that generates less heat and improves overall PSU lifespan. You can get this at a reliable price of around $50-$65.
We selected Deepcool MATREXX 40 3FS as a case,a micro-ATX gaming case that offers better airflow ,3 pre-installed RGB fans.It has a maximum GPU length of 320 mm and our RX 5600 XT fits in this case perfectly. You can get this affordable gaming case for only $50.
So,for this budget you can make a custom PC which is not only reliable but also ensures gaming experience.Happy Gaming!
